Bible Study
"All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking correcting, and training in righteousness, so that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work". 2Timothy 3:16-17
The ELCA refers to the Bible as the Book of Faith. Engaging the Book of Faith strengthens ourselves and community and leads us into the world to serve the needs of our Neighbors.
Studying the Book of Faith as a group helps us to hear and understand it more completely.
In our Bible studies we read Scripture together, ask lots of questions, read and listen to what others and teachers can bring to the conversation, and we listen to one another.
Our Bible Study is opened to ALL.
This is what a visitor (Ms. Sarah Amarah) to one of our sessions said.
"I came to visit my Sister and her husband who are members of this Bible Study group. I sat and listened keenly to the readings and then the exchanges and interactions that followed. I was so moved and encouraged and never missed a session during my month-longed vacation". I planned to encourage my church to start a Bible Study Group.
Our Bible study is held every Thursday, from 6:00pm-7:00pm; African International Lutheran Mission,(First English Lutheran Church) 3rd floor, 1015 East Main Street , Columbus, OH.
We are currently studying the Gospel of St. John. We have completed the Book of the Acts of the Apostles.
